AFTER YOUR TREATMENT

Do...

SOOTHE & STERALIZE:
Use witch hazel or Face Reality Calming Toner (available in treatment room), diluted tea tree oil, or aloe vera to soothe & sterilize the area.

REDUCE INFLAMMATION:
Apply a cold compress 10 mins. at a time to minimize swelling. No direct Ice.

LEAVE IT ALONE:
Avoid rubbing, scratching, and over-touching the treated area within the first 48-hours post-treatment.

Don't...

USE ALCOHOL BASED PRODUCTS:
Refrain from using products like perfume or antiseptics immediately following treatment. Alcohol burns and can irritate the treated area because the pores are open.

PICK, TOUCH, OR REMOVE SCABS:
It’s always our hope for scabs not to form after electrolysis, but it happens from time to time. It’s important to never pick them. Removing a scab prematurely can cause scarring and increase chances of infection.

CLOG PORES:
Refrain from applying make-up, deodorants or any other products that may clog the pores of the treated area.

WAX, TWEEZE, THREAD, SUGAR:
If you must remove your hair between appointments, then shave, clip.

SWEAT EXCESSIVELY:
Engagement in activities that cause excessive sweating, like working-out or sitting in a sauna, immediately after treatment can trigger a build-up of bacteria and cause infection. Avoid this for at least 48 hours.

SUNBATHE or SWIM:
Keep your skin covered in the sun. Just sunblock won't do the job post treatment. Make sure you are coving the area for 72 hours in combination with sunblock (min. SPF 30) to avoid pigment spots. A
void chlorine for 48-hrs.

Managing Pain & Discomfort

Aloe Vera is the first go to, but you can also apply petroleum jelly. Take a pain relief tablet (use as directed). Apply a numbing cream with Lidocaine found over the counter or one can be prescribed by a physician. Cold compress can help with inflammation.
